Center für berufsbezogene Sprachen (CEBS)

CEBS, founded in 1992 as part of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture, is a centre for teacher in-service training in Austria, specialising in vocationally-oriented studies. It is a think-tank for teacher development, curricula development, language assessment and the integration of educational programmes run by the EU and the Council of Europe. In particular, it considers itself a driving force for the integration of ICT in foreign language teaching. The CEBS is also an examination centre for international certificates, for example BEC, CCIP-diplomas, DELE and CLIDA and a contact point between schools and economic institutions at home and abroad. The CEBS works to improve teacher training in Austria and abroad with educational institutions all over Europe, particularly as part of European programmes for languages in business. The Centre has 17 full-time members of staff who provide services in English, French, Italian, Spanish and Russian.

Role in ProM

CEBS is working to develop a training module and also helping to promote ProM to its network of contacts.
